FREE Psychiatric Clinic
In 2023, Al-Shifa Clinic began the FREE Psychiatric Clinic to provide equitable mental health access to our uninsured and underinsured patient population.
The Psychiatry Clinic is currently held once every ~3 weeks. Appointments are available both in-person on Sundays as well as via Telehealth

Eligibility
- Patients who are uninsured or underinsured (deductibles or co-pays to receive care are not affordable)
- Patients who are 16+ (we do NOT currently have an adolescent or child psychiatrist)
- Patients who are NOT dealing with psychiatric emergencies requiring hospitalization

Dr. Talha John Baloch is board-certified in both General and Addiction Psychiatry. During his training, he served as Chief Resident and Team Captain for the Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk. He has presented at numerous national conferences for organizations including the American Psychiatric Association, American Neuropsychiatric Association, Association for Academic Psychiatry, American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, and American Society of Addiction Medicine, and was the recipient of the 2020 Ruth Fox Scholarship Award from ASAM and the 2017 Resident Travel Award from AAAP for his interest and dedication to the field of Addiction Psychiatry.
