Student Volunteers
We understand that most of our volunteers are using this position as a stepping stone to their future careers as health professionals. Volunteering at Al-Shifa Clinic may be advantageous for multiple reasons:
- A letter of recommendation signed by the clinic’s medical director
- Volunteer hours, applicable to clinical experiences or volunteering
- Mentorship from upperclassmen
- Opportunities for leadership positions
We are currently only receiving applications for our volunteer waitlist pool. As opportunities open up, we periodically send out email invitations to apply. We recommend you fill out the application if you are interested in volunteers, and stay tuned for opportunities that may be a good fit for you!
There are numerous roles available for volunteers at Al-Shifa Clinic. Some roles are patient facing, others administrative. Some roles are at our primary location in Fridley, some are throughout the Twin Cities, and others are remote.
Different roles have different eligibility requirements.
If you have a particular skillset that you believe would be helpful to our clinic, we would love for you to describe that in your application! We may occasionally have a need that you would be able to help us with outside of the standard volunteer roles.
