Undergraduate Student Volunteers

NOW TAKING WAITLIST APPLICATIONS ONLY

We understand that most of our volunteers are using this position as a stepping stone to their future careers as health professionals. Volunteering at Al-Shifa Clinic may be advantageous for multiple reasons:

  • A letter of recommendation signed by the clinic’s medical director
  • Volunteer hours, applicable to clinical experiences or volunteering
  • Mentorship from upperclassmen
  • Opportunities for leadership positions
I have graduated high school and earned at least 24 college credits
I am available to volunteer for at least 1 shift a month, Sundays 10 AM – 2 PM
I have reliable transportation to the clinic

Fill it out now! We invite waistlisted volunteers to apply on a rolling basis. Also, as the clinic expands in the future, there will be periods of time where we are looking to take many people off of the waitlist. Our last batch of clinical assistants was brought on in January, 2025

Yes! We have plenty of roles for leadership as well as different areas of the clinic you can be involved in. However, we usually ask that volunteers start off as clinical assistants so that they have a better understanding of how the clinic works, the patients we serve, etc. If we ever had a particular need for a specific role, we may publish that on our website. If you have a particular skillset that you believe would be helpful to our clinic, we would love to hear from you via email!
